Say ‘I Do’ to a greener planet with a sustainable wedding that won’t cost the earth
Set in the hills of North Wales within an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Tower Hill Barns has always consciously considered its place in the natural world. Surrounded by nature, we bear witness to the ever-changing patterns of the land, weather and seasons – a daily reminder of the importance of preserving our environment. It’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.
While there’s no denying that the wedding industry is inherently wasteful, we firmly believe it does not have to be. As a business, we see ourselves as catalysts for change. As problem-solvers, innovators, and champions of sustainability we refuse to accept the status quo.
Driven by our commitment to excellence, we continuously challenge ourselves to do better. Our approach is dynamic and flexible, always exploring new ways to minimise our environmental footprint without compromising your vision for your special day. Sustainability Statement
On Earth Day, 2022, we launched a pledge. As innovators and problem-solvers we recognised our responsibility to help fight climate change by joining the charge to reduce the environmental impact of the UK wedding industry. This pledge serves as the cornerstone of our sustainability policy. Guiding us as we take deliberate steps to make our weddings more sustainable while ensuring your vision for an unforgettable wedding celebration remains uncompromised.
Continuing The Conversation: What We’ve Achieved So Far
We reflect on what we’ve achieved towards making weddings here with us in the North Wales countryside more sustainable. From using renewable sources for our heating and hot water systems to going paperless where possible we’ve achieved quite a lot, but there’s still plenty of work to be done.
Barnardos x Tower Hill Barns
For Earth Day 2024 we teamed up with like-minded moguls at Barnardos to say ‘I Do’ to a greener planet by bringing awareness to the devastating impact that the UK Wedding Industry can have on our environment; and showing that making eco-friendly choices as part of your wedding planning is anything but boring – join us in making sustainable weddings the hottest trend from now until death do us part!
Promoting Biodiversity: We Planted An Apple Orchard!
As part of our mission to become a #sustainableweddingvenue, we launched an ambitious ‘living museum’ project. Our orchard aims to re-wild our venue’s green surroundings and promote local biodiversity here in the North Wales countryside; as well as offering a unique backdrop for your wedding photos. But this isn’t just any old apple orchard.
Reducing Food Miles: Locally-Sourced Food & Drink
As an eco-conscious wedding venue, we’re passionate about reducing food miles and championing Welsh growers and producers by creating outstanding food using locally sourced, in-season ingredients. We even have our very own fresh herb and vegetable garden planted alongside the Farmhouse!
