Venue Dressing

Styling & personalising the venue

Tower Hill Barns is a beautiful venue with minimal adornment required. But if you wish to dress the indoor and outdoor spaces with a scheme that ties into your wedding theme and colours, then subtle or bold, our barn wedding venue looks stunning either way.

We’ve detailed below the areas that can be dressed, both inside and outside the venue, and also covered all the inclusions that come as standard at Tower Hill Barns. We’ve also provided some information regarding the additional spaces available to include any entertainment for your guests.

Venue dressing the inside space

The areas that most couples impart their wedding theme to are the dining hall, ceremony room and the bar, which also serves as the welcome area. The dining hall is a wonderfully light space with full-height windows and a vaulted ceiling which is adorned with hops. There is plenty of space to include seating plans, centrepieces and additional flower arrangements. The bar area has a large table that couples tend to use to display photos and place their guest book and card box. Additionally, our entrance hall is the ideal place to display your guest welcome sign.

Our indoor ceremony room has mood lighting and we place candles and lanterns in all the nooks, making the space super cosy and romantic. The large mirror that couples stand in front of during the ceremony is adorned with a hops garland. This space can also accommodate flower arches, moon gates, neon signs, and shimmer walls.

Venue dressing the outdoor space

Our outdoor ceremony area is beneath the stone railway bridge which is clad with wood. Many couples add an archway garland or flower hoops to this area to add colour. Lavender and roses flank the sides in the summer, and the groundsmen change the planters regularly, year-round, for beautiful seasonal colour. The aisle is through the centre of the oak gazebo where your guests sit. You can line this area with posies or lanterns. This area has festoon lighting installed and makes for wonderfully atmospheric wedding photos come the evening.

Our outdoor spaces are fitted with speakers, including the ceremony area, so you can plug your phone or iPod directly into this to have your favourite music or playlist playing.

What comes as standard

Included in our venue hire is all cutlery, crockery, glassware, and ivory linens, although you are free to provide your own. The dining hall is set up with round tables and chairs for your guests and a long trestle table for the top table, although you can opt for a round top table should you wish.

There is plenty of space to add seating charts (which are usually placed in the bar area, adjacent to the dining hall). We also add candles throughout the venue but you are of course welcome to add your own. And additional flower arrangements, hoops, arches, and neon signs can be placed behind the top table.

Lighting

Our venue has an integrated lighting system which is changed throughout the day to provide the warm, cosy ambiance that you’d expect at a barn venue. This includes uplighters, string lights and fairy lights.

Some couples add coloured uplighters to the outside of the building for a more dramatic evening look and to tie in with their colour scheme. Our indoor ceremony area, that becomes your party area at night, has disco lights, but there is space for your DJ to add more lighting if you wish.

Colour schemes & ideas

We have seen some incredible schemes over the years and we love to see new ideas and trends. For more inspiration and to see the wide range of styles that have been used at previous weddings here, please see our real weddings and seasonal weddings pages.

We are more than happy to add simple styling items on your behalf – please discuss this with your wedding coordinator. However, if your scheme is more detailed, we would recommend using a venue dresser. We have listed some of our trusted venue dressers here.
