We are incredibly fortunate that Tower Hill Barns is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Surrounded by mountains , rivers and a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tower Hill Barns is spoilt, both for unrivaled scenery, and for natural beauty.

There’s an abundance of local places to choose from that can provide you with a great day out, or even just a quick excursion to fill a spare couple of hours. Berwyn Mountains

 You may never have heard of the Berwyn Mountains, but that’s one of its great merits. Compared with Snowdonia, this exquisitely beautiful mountain location receives far less press and far fewer visitors, which means that you’ll be able to enjoy the rare opportunity for virtual isolation as you walk or climb.

Tower Hill Barns is nestled in the scenic and outstandingly beautiful Vale of Llangollen. This broad rift valley is set around the winding River Dee and includes very many natural features and historical treasures, making the area a really special location for visitors and locals alike.

You don’t have travel far from Tower Hill Barns – in fact a mere 300 metres – to find yourself up close and personal with a Grade One Listed building: Britain’s largest and highest aqueduct, Pontcysyllte.

Just a short drive away from Tower Hill Barns is a 13th century castle with amazing panoramic views. Superlatives are often overused in describing lovely places to visit, but suffice to say that visitors to this historic site frequently review the surroundings with words like, ‘indescribable’, ‘magical’, and simply, ‘WOW!!’.

In just under 5 minutes drive from Tower Hill Barns you’ll come to Panorama Walk, a minor road which boasts some seriously attractive views of the local scenery even if you’re just driving along. Along this route, the viewpoint called The Panorama is thought to be one of the very best viewing points in the whole of Wales.

Just about 5 mins drive along the Llangollen Road from Tower Hill Barns you’ll find the small but welcoming town of Llangollen. With only around 3000 or so inhabitants, it’s a picturesque area packed with shops, cafes and restaurants, together with a wide choice of overnight accommodation.
