Spring weddings in the heart of North Wales countryside
There’s something very special about getting married in the springtime. It’s the season of new beginnings so what better time of year to start your new life together? Spring brings the warming sun, fresh floral air, and gardens in bloom with the heady scent of wild primrose, cowslip, sweet pea, and forget-me-nots.
We offer two types of ceremonies, with the freedom and flexibility of bringing that crisp spring air and birdsong right into your wedding. Our indoor ceremonies take place within the Old Barn; fairytale-esque with warm stone and timber, with the option to lace with garlands of seasonal florals and sparkling lights. For those wanting to fully take advantage of the fresh spring air, our outdoor ceremonies are conducted beneath the historic sandstone of our railway arch, secluded and intimate.
Celebrating your wedding day amongst the colourful array of tulips and the gorgeous coverage of flowering cherry blossom trees, beneath a sky filled with chirruping birdsong, or with the first twists of lavender in your bouquet, is the perfect choice for those who love the outdoors. Generally cooler, but no less lush and vibrant than summer, a spring wedding is a perfect choice for couples in love with the outdoors.
We have some great suggestions for fabulous spring menus, with plenty of delicious seasonal produce available to choose from. How about parma ham wrapped asparagus as a light starter, locally sourced lamb as the main course and then freshly grown rhubarb for dessert? And all that followed by spring-inspired cocktails, of course! Elderflower and herb coolers, peach bellinis, or pretty in pink fruit-flavoured vodka cocktails are some of our favourites, knotting together seasonal colours, smells and flavours into luxurious drinks for your guests.
And as your special day draws in and the cooler evening air takes hold, your guests can continue to enjoy the outdoors for a few more hours. We have covered seating, stylish string lighting and a warming fire pit, where you can toast marshmallows and wave sparklers as you share drinks, laughter and great conversation.
Styling your spring wedding theme
If a spring wedding is on the cards, you’ll find there are plenty of colours to work with. Spring’s natural beauty is so romantic! Think of fresh white blossoms, bright, sunny daffodils, the rainbow shades of tulips, and deeper tones of crocuses in blues and violets. Or for the free-spirited, a fresh bohemian scattering of poppies, cuckoo flowers and wild daisies in the lush meadow grass is a nice homage to the captivating Celtic ambience felt here in the Welsh hills at springtime.
Whichever your colour palette, from soft pastels to rustic tones, all accents will pair perfectly with that soft romantic hue nature blushes with at this time of the year. And when tied into the rustic barn setting here, it gives you a backdrop full of potential.
