The Perfect Countryside Wedding Venue…

When Emily and Ben, hailing from Newport in South Wales, first wandered into our venue, we quietly sensed that this incredible couple were just meant to be here. Emily took her first glimpse at our gorgeous countryside wedding venue and tears welled up in her eyes. As she breathed in the atmosphere of our picturesque setting, having already heard rave reviews about our food and drink offering; she knew instinctively that we were the perfect choice.

Enchanted by the rustic, yet sophisticated charm of our barn venue, these DIY enthusiasts artfully crafted their magnificent wedding. On the day, guests were greeted with the couple’s favourite Prosecco and the grooms personal Beer choice, setting the stage for a joyous celebration. Against the rustic barn backdrop, adorned with twinkling fairy lights and the subtle glow of candle-lit lanterns, day effortlessly transitioned into night, creating a magical wintery ambience that enveloped all in attendance.

Photos With Pizazz…

Inspired by the stunning photos showcased on our Tower Hill Barns social media, the couple eagerly enlisted one of our preferred suppliers, Joe Bickerton to immortalise their wedding day through his lens.

With no specific style in mind, the couple just did what came naturally. And it paid off. Joe effortlessly captured the essence of their day, taking a number of particularly stunning images beneath our historic ‘Old Railway Bridge‘ and across the picturesque grounds.

Joe was extremely relaxed and professional and didn’t take too much time to get some amazing shots. Many guests complimented his amazingness, not intruding on any moments but just hovering in the background and grabbing some really great shots.

To All The Foodies We’ve Loved Before…

At the wedding breakfast, canapés, prawns, and halloumi graced the menu, offering a delightful start to the day. The butternut squash arancini and beef Wellington proved to be crowd pleasers, eliciting plenty of praise from the couple’s delighted guests. In fact, one attendee went as far as to declare it the best wedding food they had ever experienced! But we can’t say we were surprised… that’s what we were going for after all!

As the party got underway, guests sought an energy boost, finding solace in an abundant selection of cheese and biscuits. And, who could forget dessert? Emily & Ben provided a decadent sweet cart which certainly went down well with their guests.

And of course there was also the pièce de résistance in the form of a gorgeous three-tier wedding cake crafted by the talented artisans at Cake Chester. Offering a symphony of flavours: chocolate, vanilla and lemon, it stood atop our signature wooden barrel, in all it’s semi-naked glory proudly decorated with exquisite floral accents – it was most definitely a show stopper.

The Perfect Bridesmaids Dresses…

The navy and blush styling of this wedding was romance personified. With Emily’s “I Do” crew looking first class in their navy blue bridesmaids dresses, they blended perfectly both with the traditional and rustic vibes of the couple’s church ceremony and the barn reception. Of course, Emily led this gorgeous girl crew in her fabulous rainbow bridal shoes and a show-stopping Pronovias dress from Allison Jayne in Cardiff.

The Big Day…

Housing the couple’s 100 daytime guests, the Barns came alive with a captivating blend of navy tones and bursts of blush for the couple’s reception, embodying the traditional yet rustic charm they’d envisioned for their wedding day.

By seamlessly intertwining the solemnity of a church ceremony with the warm and joyous atmosphere of the Barns for our reception, we cultivated an ambience that exuded heartfelt elegance, while preserving our values, and it was perfect.

Unusually Sneaky Speeches…

Whoever said that 21st century weddings should be stifled and boring? Boys will be boys… sneak in a little drinking game, and lots of secret fun will flow! The table in front of the best man was playing a drinking game where a whiskey was passed around the table each time the words ‘thank you’ were spoken. Whoever the bottle landed on, had to drink it! Little did the rest of the table know, that one of the ushers had conspired with the best man to ensure that the whiskey didn’t land on him! Sneaky, but we love it!

A Flawless, Freestyle First Dance…

The couple’s first dance was flawlessly unchoreographed. Emily & Ben effortlessly grooved to the beat of Fleetwood Mac, a perfect choice that resonated with their impeccable taste in music. With its iconic intro, their song selection couldn’t help but evoke a wave of emotion and good vibes, setting the tone for an unforgettable moment on the dance floor!

A Risky Proposal…

Ben proposed in Michigan, America, one of his favourite destinations that we visit annually making it as special to me as it is to him. Choosing words that may not be considered traditionally romantic, he popped the question: “I’m not going to do much better than you, will you marry me?” – not quite the words every girl wants to hear Ben, but we appreciate the sentiment!

I’m not going to do much better than you, will you marry me?

Words Of Wisdom…

Don’t make the same mistake we did! Arrange your speeches before the wedding breakfast is served. Ben and I had stress bellies throughout our meal until the speeches were done. And we’d have been able to enjoy the gorgeous food so much more if we’d have gotten them over and done with before eating – lesson learned!

Less critically, we’d also recommend opting for circular tables for your guests – they make socialising so much easier!

The After…

As their wedding day came to a close and their journey into a beautiful life together began, Emily and Ben embarked on a luxurious mini-moon at the Savoy, London. Before indulging in complete relaxation on the white sandy beaches of Mauritius, a destination so captivating that they joked, “we didn’t move for a week!” – We’re not jealous at all…
