We can’t wait to meet you. Until then, here’s everything you might want to know to plan your day here at ours. We’ve tried to cover all of the questions we’re asked most frequently by guests attending our weddings, but if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Visiting Tower Hill Barns

All the important information about attending a wedding here at the Barns. From where to find us to what time to arrive.

  • Our address: Tower Hill Barns, Llangollen Road, Trevor, Llangollen, LL20 7TN.

TIP: If your GPS is being cheeky, don’t turn off at Tower Hill, instead stay on A539 Llangollen Road until you see our sign.

  • Guests are welcome to arrive up to one hour prior to the ceremony start time.

  • Generally, on the day of the wedding, Tower Hill Barns will close at midnight unless the couple has agreed an extension. For some smaller, mid-week weddings, the venue will close at 11pm.

  • Sadly, we do not have the facilities for guests to get ready on-site. We welcome guests to arrive dressed and ready for the event, no earlier than one hour prior to the ceremony start time.

  • Tower Hill Barns is an exclusive-use wedding and events venue. Unfortunately, we are not open to the public and are only able to accommodate viewings by appointment.

  • Yes, we have underfloor heating throughout the new barn to keep you warm and cosy. There are also radiators in the Old Barn where indoor ceremonies are held. Outside, two mesmerising fire pits and a cosy Garden Snug provide the perfect setting to take in the evening festivities.

The Bar At THB

Pull up a chair and get comfy because the bar area forms the centre of our venue. Featuring plenty of comfy seating areas, a fresh and innovative drinks menu, and bi-fold doors that open out onto the terrace. It’s the perfect place to mingle, laugh and discuss while you wait for the celebration to begin.

  • Our bar is top-tier and boasts the best of our local North Wales distilleries. We stock a variety of drinks, including draft lagers, draft ciders, craft bitters, bottled beers, ciders and a wide selection of spirits.

We also have qualified European Bartender School mixologists on our bar team who are experts in the art of preparing the ultimate cocktail. Using seasonal produce and boasting the best small-batch spirits from local North Wales distilleries, we’re confident that our cocktail menus won’t leave you wanting!

For the fresh thinkers and smart drinkers among you, we offer a good non-alcoholic range also.

  • We accept payment by cash and all major card providers at the bar.

  • Generally, the bar is open until midnight, with last orders being called at 11.45pm. Unless the marrying couple has arranged a ‘late finish’. For some mid-week weddings an earlier finish may have been agreed.

Food At THB

Food is our love language -it’s a huge part of what we’re about. Almost everything served from our kitchens is made from scratch by our in-house chefs, and really, it all boils down to good quality, seasonal food that’s full of flavour and made with love.

  • Our team work with each of our couples to create a unique wedding menu tailored to their preferences. Therefore it is best to speak with the couple themselves should you need to discuss their wedding menu ahead of time.

However, you can find general information about our renowned food and drink offering here. And you’re also welcome to peruse our wedding menus should you wish.

  • Our children’s menu can be found here and is aimed at children aged 12 and under. However, we are more than happy to accommodate older children who would prefer to eat from the children’s menu. Please discuss your needs with the marrying couple. Note: larger portions can be provided upon request.

For babies and young toddlers who do not require food from us, guests are welcome to bring along their own food and snacks as required.

  • At Tower Hill Barns all dietary requirements are happily catered for. Whether you’re vegan, veggie or gluten-free we’ll ensure you experience the same high-quality dining experience that all of our guests have come to expect from us – you’ll find no underwhelming token offerings here. Where possible, we try to ensure that those with dietary requirements or preferences enjoy the same options as the wider guest list, tweaked to meet their needs.

That said, please ensure you notify the marrying couple with details of any dietary requirements when you RSVP. This will allow their wedding manager to ensure suitable arrangements are made ahead of the big day.

If you would like to speak to us directly about any specific needs or concerns, please get in touch via our contact form.

  • Our chefs are trained in classical French and fine dining styles, so we can cater for anything from a white-tablecloth worthy dining experience to street food, grazing platters, and everything in-between.

Wedding Accommodation

Gorgeous countryside accommodation is provided to the newlywed couple for up to 18 guests on-site. Not part of the wedding party but still fancy a staycation? You’re spoilt for choice, with lots of great accommodation available locally within the nearby market town of Llangollen and surrounding areas.

  • All of our onsite accommodation is booked directly to the marrying couple so we are unable to take bookings directly.

We have 9 rooms, and these are usually reserved for the wedding party. It’s worth checking with the couple to see if you’re on the list with them. Otherwise, there is plenty of high-quality accommodation available nearby.

  • We are able to provide disabled access from the venue to our on-site accommodation. The farmhouse features one accessible ground-floor bedroom with an ensuite wet room which is equipped with handrails.

Further information about access and facilities at Tower Hill Barns can be found on our accessibility page. However, if you have any further queries, please feel welcome to contact us.

  • Yes, absolutely. There is lots of information available on our local accommodation page. You’ll be spoilt for choice. We’re based in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so there’s plenty of accommodation springing up on airbnb, as well as the more traditional hotels and B&B’s in the area.

Have a look, and if you have any trouble, get in touch and we can come back to you with more information. Our nearest market town is Llangollen, which is approximately 4 miles away and is a great place to start.

  • For guests staying on-site,  check in is strictly from 3pm. We’re happy to take your bags and store them safely. If the ceremony is earlier, come and enjoy the celebration and a drink. And then as soon as the accommodation is ready, we’ll help you check in with your bags.

Parking and Transportation

You may be surprised to learn that despite our semi-rural location we are perfectly placed for easy access from several surrounding major cities, including Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool. With plenty of parking available on-site.

  • We strongly recommend that you book your taxi in advance. As we are in a semi-rural location, it is not always easy to get a taxi last-minute. A list of local taxi firms can be found here on our local accommodation page.

We recommend guests arrange their transport for midnight unless the couple has agreed a 1pm ‘late finish’.

  • Yes, you’re absolutely welcome to leave your car overnight (at your own risk). But we would ask you to collect it by 11 am the following day.

  • We will allow guests to stay in their camper vans overnight in our car park, provided they are fully self-contained and the marrying couple are in agreement. However, as we do not have any facilities on site for this purpose, we recommend guests visit our local accommodation page for information about more suitable pitches nearby.

If you do plan to stay on-site in your camper van overnight please ensure that you have agreed this with the marrying couple in advance. And we ask that all vehicles are removed from the premises by 11am the following day.

  • We do not have any specified disabled parking on site. However, guests are welcome to use our turning circle, close to the venue entrance to park/ drop off disabled guests. And we’ll be more than happy to help should assistance be required.

Please feel free to call us in advance on (01978) 823429 if you would like to discuss any requirements.

Accessibility

As an inclusive wedding venue it’s important to us that all of our guests are comfortable and provided for at all times. Even more so, we believe all of our guests deserve to fully participate. If there’s anything we can do or specifications you’d like us to know, please feel welcome to contact us.

  • We are a fully accessible venue. There are ramps throughout the venue which link the ceremony areas, bar and dining rooms, and the outside terrace is level.

There is also an accessible toilet on the ground floor of the barn, and we welcome Guide Dogs on-site at all times. We can also cater for carers if required.
